New Dodge RAM

The new Dodge Ram 2012 is a stylish and practcal vehicle with a bold line and is currently marketed as a separate brand from Dodge in the United States and Canada and is a full-size pick-up truck manufactured by the Chrysler Group LLC. As of late 2010, it has been sold under the RAM TRUCKS brand. To date the word "DODGE" still exists on the dashboard of the trucks. Previously, Ram was part of the Dodge series of light trucks.

 

The name Ram was first used in 1981 on the redesigned Ram and Power Ram based on the Dodge D series pickup trucks. The truck is so named for the Ram hood style  that first was seen in  Dodge cars in the 1930s. The Ram Truck is now in its fourth generation as of the 2009 model year, the new Dodge Ram.


The Dodge RAM, which is known simply as the RAM in the US and Canada, started production back in 1981. It comes in six different trims - ST, SXT, SLT, TRX, Sport Laramie, and Power Wagon. It also has four different cab options - Crew Cab (new for 2010), Mega Cab, Quad Cab, and Regular Cab.

 

 

The RAM is powered by a variety  of different engine options, including a 3.7L V6 producing 215 HP and 235 lb-ft of torque, a 4.7L V8 producing  310 HP and 330 lb-ft of torque, a 5.7L V8 producing 355/390 HP and 395/404 lb-ft of torque, and a 6.7L turbodiesel I-6 getting 350 HP and 610/650 lb-ft of torque. These engines have the option of either a 6-speed manual or a choice of three different automatics: 4-, 5-, or 6-speed.


Dodge Ram trucks have been named Truck of the Year several times. The Ram is currently built at the Saltillo Truck Assembly in Mexico and Warren Truck Assembly in Michigan.. A genuine American product, built to last.
