New Dodge Engines

After the Mustang and Camaro increase the power of their engine, the new Dodge engines should be more powerful. The 2011 engine will come with new blocks, which reach up to 475 HP.

At the moment, the Dodge Challenger engine is the largest of all, but the access model is the least powerful. This will change when the 2011 engine allows the Pentastar V6 engine of 3.6 liters, which pays out 305 HP and 268 lb-ft of torque. Remains below the competition, but in practice will be very similar acceleration.

Consumption was reduced to 19/26 mpg, like the Gaston Chevrolet but the Ford. This is the system variable valve lift and leaving the iron to be constructed of aluminum.

The Challenger R / T HEMI 2011 will maintain the 5.7-liter block, but refined to achieve 379 HP and 410 lb-ft of torque. The engine is indebted to the competition, because it is far from the 412 HP Mustang GT or Camaro SS 400/420. Consumption is estimated at 17/25 mpg.

However, the icing on the cake is the new 392 HEMI engine, 6.4 liters and will be exclusive to the SRT-8. This engine allows the Challenger have 475 HP and 460 lb-ft of torque.

Dodge's CEO, Ralph Gilles says that the SRT-8 2011 is capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in under 4 seconds. Former SRT-8, 6.1-liter and 428 HP did in 4.8 or 5.5 seconds depending on transmission. The launch edition, limited to 1,100 units will be sold in October.
